Shadrack Biwott

Shadrack Biwott is a 2009 University of Oregon graduate, where he was a three-time All-American in Cross Country and one-time All-American in Track. He was 9th in the 2008 NCAA Cross Country Championships and 8th in the 2009 NCAA 5k. In 2007, he won the Individual Pac-10 Cross Country crown, earning him Pac-1o Athlete of the Year Honors. Shadrack holds personal bests of 7:51 (3k), 13:36 (5k), 28:28 (10k) and 1:01:40 (half marathon).
In February of 2010, Shadrack ran a stunning 1:01:40 at the Rock ‘N’ Roll Mardi Gras Half Marathon, finishing only seven seconds behind Sammy Wanjiru, the 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist, and Martin Lel, a three-time London Marathon Champion. Three weeks later, Shadrack placed fifth at the NYC Half Marathon in 1:01:52. Shadrack is certain to be a forced reckoned with at the longer distances.
Originally from Eldoret, Kenya, Shadrack grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he finished third in the 2003 Foot Locker Cross Country Championships and had the top high school 2-mile time in the nation (8:45.44) in 2004. He currently lives in Eugene, Oregon and runs for the Nike-sponsored Oregon Track Club.
