Sally placed 10th among Americans and 28th overall at the ING New York City Marathon, which also served as the 2010 Women’s Marathon Championships. After a few weeks rest, she will race again at the USA Club Cross Country Championships in Charlotte, North Carolina in December.

Jeffrey qualifies for IAAF World Championships Marathon at Twin Cities

Jeffrey Eggleston ran a 23 second PR to finish second in 2:14:09 at the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon, which serves as the USA Marathon Championships. His second place finish ensures a spot on Team USA at the IAAF World Championship Marathon to be held next August in Daegu, South Korea. Also at Twin Cities was Trent Briney, who finished a strong 8th in 2:17:47. Sally Meyerhoff ran the USA 10 Mile Championship, finishing 5th in 55:22. Click here to see Jeffrey’s amazing finish.

Sally and Jeff race well at Bloomsday

One week after setting a course record at the NYC Half Marathon, Sally Meyerhoff was the first American finisher and 11th overall at the Lilac Bloomsday 12k run. Jeffrey Eggleston finished fourth among Americans and was 16th overall.

Sally sets new course record at the More/Fitness Magazine Half Marathon

On Sunday, April 25th, Sally Meyerhoff won the More/Fitness Magazine Half Marathon under a cold, heavy downpour in New York City’s Central Park. She outran four-time Olympian Colleen De Reuck en route to a new course record of 1:14:40. This is Sally’s first race since placing first in her age group at the Oceanside 70.3 Triathlon, a performance that has qualified her for the World Ironman Champioships in Kona, Hawaii.

Empire Athletics athletes run strong in NYC

On March 21st, three Empire Athletics athletes – Shadrack Biwott, Sally Meyerhoff, and Trent Briney – all competed in the new spring edition of the NYC Half Marathon. Shadrack continued his dominance on the roads with 1:01:52, good for fifth place overall. In 9th place at the 10k mark, Shadrack moved up steadily over the second half of the race and cruised to the finish with yet another sub 1:02 half marathon in a span of three weeks. Sally Meyerhoff ran her second fastest half marathon time ever with a 1:13:58 as she ran to a 9th place finish overall in the women’s division. Trent Briney finished 18th with a time of 1:06:44.

Sally is 8th at the All-America City 10k

Sally Meyerhoff placed eight overall and third among Americans at the All- America City 10k in Edinburgh, Texas. She ran a 35:17 on a windy course in preparation for the National Breast Cancer Marathon in Jacksonville, Florida on February 21st.

The popular website Letsrun.com has ranked Sally Meyerhoff 9th in its annual marathon rankings. Sally earned that spot with her fifth place finish at the USA Marathon Championships in Twin Cities with a new PR of 2:35:49 along with her 2:35:52 previous PR set last January at the Phoenix Rock ‘N’ Roll Marathon.

Great Marathon Weekend for Empire Athletics Athletes

On Sunday, December 6, Empire Athletics athletes scored a victory and runner-up finish at the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon and Rock ‘N’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon, respectively. Albina Mayorova-Ivanov was the Singapore Champion by two minutes with a time of 2.32.49, while Alevtina Ivanova placed second in Las Vegas in 2:30:05 after being passed in the final stretch by Caroline Rotich of Kenya. Sally Meyerhoff ran the Las Vegas Half Marathon with a strong tempo effort, finishing fifth.

Sally finishes Fifth at the USA Marathon Championships

On Sunday, October 4, Sally secured a top five finish at the USA Marathon Championships held in Twin Cities, Minneapolis. She ran a new PR of 2:35:49 and passed several people over the last half of the race. After a few weeks of downtime, Sally will try to lower her half marathon best at the Big Sur Half Marathon in November, before racing in her hometown of Phoenix, Arizona at the P.F. Chang’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Phoenix Marathon.
