Carlos Trujillo, Camille Herron, and Ariana Hilborn traveled to Northport, Long Island to compete at the 34th annual Great Cow Harbor 10k road race, where Carlos finished a strong 2nd in 29:13.  Camille and Ariana also ran well, placing 6th and 8th in a very competitive field, both earning new personal bests of 34:39 and 35:18 respectively…

Tyler McCandless cruised to the finish line of the Kauai Marathon, a race known for its humid and hilly conditions, in 2:23:19. He was a full three minutes ahead of the second place finisher, who both took home a share of the $15,000 Marathon Challenge Bonus. Lisa Stublic and Stephanie Reilly both competed on the first day of the IAAF World Championships in Daegu. Lisa finished 27th out of 46 finishers in 2:36:41.  A few hours later, Stephanie Reilly placed 8th in the steeplechase heats in 9:55 but did not advance to the finals. Full results can be found here

Empire Athletics Management welcomes its newest athlete, Jacques Sallberg. Jacques is a 3,000 meter steeplechase specialist with an 8:28 personal record in the event. Lisa Stublic won the 5k at the Croatian National Championships, running 16:08 in a controlled effort.  She easily bettered her previous record of 16:27 set two years ago. Lisa is the owner of Croatian records in the 5k, 3k steeplechase, half marathon, and marathon.  Her next race will be the IAAF World Championship Marathon in Daegu, South Korea…

Carlos Trujillo won the Seattle Rock 'N' Roll Half Marathon in his first attempt at the distance. His time of 1:03:51 is a new course record and the fastest half marathon ever run in Washington State. Carlos also qualified for the 2012 Olympic Marathon Trials by running under 1:05:00.
